Alexander R. Key

I am a highly self-motivated young designer from Bedfordshire, graduating in 2020 from 3D Design & Craft at the University of Brighton. I am passionate about modern design and production processes, which I use to create high-quality unique modern pieces of furniture with enduring appeal.

My main influences are from the Danish and Scandinavian movements in furniture design, drawing inspiration from icons such as Hans J. Wegner and The Eame’s. This is complimented by an ambitions approach to designing and making pieces which draws on a variety of methods throughout the creative process, such as 3D printing, digital model making & process exploration.

I am a reliable designer with strong organisational and digital skills complimented by a strong work ethic, resulting in enjoyment from my work. I am a strong communicator who’s comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Experience gained in both voluntary as well remunerated roles, including interacting with the public and colleagues in a diverse range of settings.
